Nevada Energy Connection is comprised of two programs operated by the State of Nevada designed to give energy and weatherization assistance to qualified households. The Energy Assistance Program helps you reduce your energy bills by making payments directly to the energy company on your behalf. The Weatherization Assistance Program helps you improve the energy efficiency of your homes by adding insulation, weather stripping, and minor home repairs.
Do I Qualify?
The State of Nevada provides both direct financial and weatherization assistance to low-income households who meet their income guidelines. These programs are funded by both federal dollars and money collected from all utility customers on behalf of the State through the Universal Energy Charge (UEC).

Energy Assistance Program
The program, administered by the Welfare Division, begins July 1 and applications are accepted through June 30, or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first. Eligible households are awarded assistance once each program year. The assistance is based on the household's gross income and annual energy use. However, it is not intended to meet 100% of a household's expenses.
